County Commissioners Highlights - June 27, 2018

PAHRUMP, Nev., June 27, 2018 - The following report highlights several important actions taken at the Nye County Board of Commissioners meeting. The agenda numbers provide links to each item’s backup.

County Assessor Sheree Stringer presented projected expenditures from the Assessor's Technology Fund for the fiscal year 2019 (7)  

Board reappointed Leah-Ann DeAnda to the Parump Regional Planning Commission, and appointed Carol Curtis and Tom Duryea. These three terms will expire in June 2022. (8)

Commissioners unanimously approved the returns for the recount of the Republican Primary Election results for County Commission District IV showing Leo Blundo the winner. (9) 

Display Fireworks Event Permits were approved for the Fourth of July events at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute (10) and behind the Pahrump Nugget Casino on Saturday, July 7. (11)

Commissioners approved a new lease agreement with Desert Haven Animal Society for the Nye County Animal Shelter in Pahrump, approving a $50,000 subsidy from the Town of Pahrump with a Memorandum of Understanding. (13)

Commissioners approved a letter of support for the NyE Communities Coalition for an application to USDA for a grant to support community facility assistance in Nye County, including the medical center in Tonopah. (14)

Sitting as the Governing Body of Unincorporated Town of Pahrump 

Board approved the Fiscal Year 2019 transfer $440,000 from the Pahrump Airport Room Tax Fund into the new Lakeview Golf Course Enterprise Fund. (5)
